June 2011.Nevskiy Prospekt, St. Petersburg, Russia.
Making my debut with this awesome band.
I’ve just been to St. Petersburg and back. It was amazing to be out at 10pm and feel like it was only 5pm. The sun didn’t set ‘til about 11pm and it was only a few hours before it got bright again.
We hung out mostly in Nevskiy Prospekt, which is one of the main avenues in St. Petersburg. There were loads of places and sights to visit but we only really had time to go to The Hermitage. Even then, we could barely cover one floor in the afternoon that we put aside.

They’ve got people dressed up for you to take pictures with. They make you pay, of course. The have carriage rides, too! I reckon the whole place would be more awesome if they didn’t have so much construction around though. Only a matter of time!
Walking along Nevskiy Propekt, one finds loads of buskers. There was this particular three man band that really intrigued me. We saw them on our first day and then again on our last day there. On the last day, I just had to do take a picture with them but I was just a tad embarrassed to actually have them see me take one, so I stood in the back. But that’s not all I did, really…

In front of the war memorial. This was at about 9.30pm at night? Still bright, aye.
Before heading to Seoul, I’ve still got Hong Kong on the agenda. Can’t wait.
